Measuring and Installing Day and Night Blinds
Day and night blinds do not require a complicated procedure for their measurements and installation. We will describe the procedure step by step below:
Measuring:
- Take a measuring tape, a pen and a piece of paper to write on. Also, make sure to measure every window separately.
- In order to measure the width, start from the top right corner and go all the way to the top left corner and right down the reading. Repeat the procedure at the middle and the bottom of the window as well. Take the smallest reading to use.
- To take the measurements for the drop, start from the top right corner and measure the distance to the bottom right corner. Then repeat this procedure in the middle and top left as well. Take the smallest of all readings to use.
Installing the Blinds:
- First, lay your blind out in front of the window and keep the chain control on any side you want.
- Measure 20cm from the recess and mark that spot with a pencil. This is where the mounting bracket will be placed. If your blinds have come with more than two brackets, you can space them equally from the mark.
- Decide how far forward you want to mount the blinds. Make sure to look for handles or any other obstruction in the path of the blinds before taking this decision.
- Place the mounting bracket on the mark and mark the holes for the screws using a pencil. Use a drill bit to drill the holes and install rawl plugs into them. Place the bracket on the hole and tighten the screws.
- Make sure that the blind is firmly clipped into the bracket. You will hear a sound of a click when the blind is properly in place.
- Find the child safety device on the chain. Pull the chain tight and mark the screw holes of the device with a pencil. Drill the holes and install rawl plugs into them. Place the device on the marks and drive the screw into the holes to hold the device firmly on the wall.
